These are my actively breeding pairs with babies in the nest

I focus on the rare varieties, most of which I helped import to the US or bring into the New England area. I breed for mottled, blue, rex, color points, and schimmel. Most of my gerbils are self. But I have introduced agouti (a white belly variety) from a wild caught line to hopefully carry on their dark feet to the colorpoint and schimmel lines. I have been breeding my lines and pulling in exceptional gerbils from other lines for over 25 years. First and foremost I breed for health and a curious, friendly temperament.

Breeding Pairs

1.

Mottled Black Pair

Breeding for pleasing varigated pattern including color in the collar.

2.

Color Point Pair

The female is colorpoint nutmeg (ee) and the male is burmese (chmchm). Breeding for dark points, on the tail, ears, and large dark face mask. Especially interested in dark front feet (which is more difficult than dark back feet). Both have very nice tail and tuft and sweet temperaments. Both these two won first in the Color Point class for this years 2024 virtual show. They just had their first litter.

3.

Schimmel Producing Pair

Schimmel gerbils are efef, a gene unique to this variety. Schimmel gerbils can be hard to find. They start out a rich orange and then the body changes color to more and more white with each molt, leaving orange points. It can be hard to achieve the orange feet so I pulled in an agouti from a wild caught line which has very dark feet. This agouti girl was bred to carry ef. Hoping the dark feet will carry on to their schimmel babies.
